Debbie Anderson, MSW
Board Vice-President
Debbie Anderson, MSW, serves on the Board of Senior Services and Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest. She is a long-time resident of Wedgwood with over 30 years experience in building and sustaining community-based programs for older adults on the Eastside. Debbie is excited about working in her own community to strengthen the resources and connections among and for older adults and all generations.
Jeanne Carpenter
Board President
Jeanne spent more than 30 years in not-for-profit health-care organizations in Seattle, the Bay Area and New York, including 25 years locally with Group Health Cooperative, where as regional Director of Provider Contracting, she was charged with development and oversight of a comprehensive contracted provider network within Washington State. Jeanne has lived in Wedgwood for 27 years and serves on the Wedgwood Board of Trustees as the Land Use Chair. She is a graduate of the University of Washington.
Mike Ullmann
Chair, Communications Committee
Mike is a career manager and journalist who has lived in the Maple Leaf neighborhood for the past decade (and in Green Lake before that). He most recently was the managing editor of the King County Journal daily newspaper, covering King County outside Seattle, and has managed the paper’s county and state legislative bureaus. A native Texan with the boots to prove it, he is a strong supporter of neighborhood and community organizations.
Mary E. Fry, PhD, RN
Co-chair, Outreach Committee
Mary has taught nursing at Seattle Pacific University for 40 years. Her areas of expertise are reproductive health, women's health and human sexuality. She and her husband have lived in Wedgwood for 44 years. Her volunteer activities include Planned Parenthood Education, board member for Wallingford Day Care Center for 10 years, host for international trainees for EarthCorp. She is also an active member of Wallingford United Methodist Church, with committee responsibilities for adult education, children's education, social programs within the church.



Sandra Reynolds
Sandra has broad experience in the field of aging, including teaching college courses on adult development and conducting research on centenarians, managing a health agency in a senior living community, and, most recently, on staff of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging in Washington, DC as manager of the Eldercare Locator, a referral network for senior information and services nationwide.
Sandra grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in English. She also has a degree in nursing, a MBA, and PhD with a Certificate in Gerontology. Sandra has recently returned to Seattle to be near family and continue to be involved in aging issues.
Sarah Osmer
Chair, Fundraising
Sarah has over 15 years of marketing and product management experience. Most recently she was with Starbucks Coffee Company holding various Director positions in beverage, new concepts, and health and wellness. Prior to Starbucks, she lived in San Francisco and worked for Wild Planet Toys. Sarah holds an MSBA from San Francisco State University and a BA in History/Latin American Studies from the University of Oregon. She lives in View Ridge in an intergenerational block and appreciates her neighbors!
Leslie Phillips
Leslie Phillips, PhD, is the Scientific Director of the Urban Indian Health Institute. Leslie is passionate about yoga, walking, and exploring Washington's wilderness areas. Her experience growing up in a close–knit Houston neighborhood left her with a strong belief in the importance of local communities. She currently serves as block captain for the 3200 block of NE 89th street in Wedgwood and hopes to further enrich her connection to community through involvement with NEST.

Hal Perry
Hal is a retired United Methodist minister and social worker with a broad background in social service work, including founding an inner city ministry on Capitol Hill and managing and developing foster care and residential youth at risk programs for the YMCA. He was also the initial information technology director for the YMCA of Greater Seattle. He has his own IT company. He is active in the Ravena United Methodist Church. He holds a MDiv from Garrett Theological Seminary and an MSW from the University of Washington.

Nancy Connolly, MD, MPH
Nancy Connolly is a physician at Virginia Mason specializing in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. She has lived in the View Ridge neighborhood since 2007. Prior to this, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, conducting HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment research trials and caring for those afflicted with the disease. Working with patients from all walks of life has given her a rich understanding of the challenges all of us face with busy lives and diverse responsibilities and deepened her commitment to being part of a solution that strengthens our communities and facilitates a network of neighbors helping neighbors. She firmly believes that when we help each other, we are all enriched.
She also chairs the Community Giving Committee at View Ridge School PTA and is an active and committed neighbor in Northeast Seattle.
Judy Kinney, MSW
Executive director
Judy Kinney, most recently a senior program coordinator for the University of Arizona Arthritis Center, enjoys creating new possibilities with individuals, communities and organizations. Working with people across life’s spectrum for the past 30 years, she has been a respected social services leader, cultural competency trainer, group facilitator, business owner, and life coach in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, and in the greater Seattle area. She has managed finances, promotion and staffing for programs with more than 100 volunteers. She has a quarter-century experience at funding programs through grants, events, online campaigns, individual requests and private-sector donations. Judy is a practical innovator who excels at creating systems and services that support people and communities to flourish. Judy received both her BSW and MSW from Arizona State University and also loves to laugh, bake, and dance.
