Committees
Executive

Coordinating function between the various committees – overall responsibility for moving the business plan ahead and keeping it on time.

Nominating

Interviews and recruits potential Board members with the necessary skills and dedication to assure the development and sustainability of NEST. Orients new Board members to the mission of NEST and its operations.

Finance

Set up the policies and procedures for judicious accounting practices. Ensures that NEST will meet audit requirements as a 501(c)3. Develop and oversee the 3-year budget of NEST.

Service Development

Decide on key strategic partnerships. Decide on selection criteria to request RFP for home health and Medicare home care providers. Gather and vet the vendor list. Negotiate discounts.

Based on member surveys, decide which key services are included with membership (as financially feasible) and which are a la carte, but at a negotiated discount.

Communications

Maintain and update website. Select system for easy collection of membership and volunteer information. Develop the brochures and the newsletter for members.

Membership/Marketing

Reach out to local civic clubs, churches and neighborhood groups to keep spreading the word about NEST.

Goal is to build the membership base so when we launch we have many persons ready to sign up. Meet with and support the neighborhood liaisons as they gather interest in their neighborhoods.

Sponsor several programs prior to launch to maintain interest.

Development

Secure the necessary funds to launch NEST according to its business plan. Secure seed money and sufficient funds so we hire staff and launch the program with sufficient capital to see us through two to three years of operation as the membership grows.
