iPhone Basics is a 7-week course that offers a comprehensive introduction to the most useful – but sometimes perplexing – features and functions of your iPhone. From your saving contacts to using other basic apps, these classes will help you feel more competent and confident about using your iPhone. Each workshop is 1 hour in length.
Instructor Chris Altwegg has been a Mac / Apple enthusiast since 1984 and started teaching the iPhone and iPad for seniors since 2014. He’s patient and shuns jargon, and that allows students to understand and use their devices to their fullest. Oh, yes, and his sense of humor makes the classes fun.
Class Courses: All the Buttons, Settings and Ports – On Your iPhone ; Mail App – Send and receive your email on the move; Find My… – Lost Your Phone? Lost a person? Find them on a map / FaceTime App – Audio and video calls ; Siri – Your iPhone’s Personal Assistant / Maps App – Get there with easy to follow instructions; Camera App – Understand the camera app so you take better pictures / Photos App – You took better pictures, now enjoy them and share with others; Calendar App – Organize your life: upcoming events, plan travel, keep track of doctor’s appointments / Contacts App – Your address book: names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses ; Music App – Listen to your music or download favorites streaming music classical to rock and jazz / Books App – Read eBooks, listen to audiobooks and podcasts
